Part 4 of a series of morning lecture recitals that map the personal journeys of musicians with the music of Bach. Our fourth session celebrates two larger-scale works by J.S. Bach – an orchestral suite for flute and strings, and a harpsichord concerto. Harpsichordist and musicologist John McKean is joined by guest flutist and Maine-native, Nicholas Southwick, praised by the Royal Gazette for his “beautiful phrasing” and by the Boston Musical Intelligencer for his "admirable ensemble cohesion", as well as our resident string ensemble, Palaver Strings.
